Face To Face – 10-9-8 – The Classic Number!
Boston’s Face To Face, the original Face To Face. Formed in New Hampshire in 1979 by Laurie Sargent, Angelo Petraglia, Billy Beard, Stu Kimball, and John Ryder. Released in 1984, 10-9-8was a new wave hit for the band. It reached #38 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #7 on the dance chart. The band was part of the 1981 Rumble at Spit (Finals were at The Metro) with Balloon (Charlie Farren’s band), Extremes (not the Nuno Bettencourt Extreme), The Outlets, The Neat, and Young Snake — Aimee Mann’s pre-til tuesday band with whom she won the Rumble two years later. Written by Angelo Petraglia, who has gone on to write and/or produce with a number of bands and artists to include Kings of Leon. Patty Griffin, Taylor Swift, Warren Haynes (of the Del Fuegos), Peter Wolf, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Sara Evans, Lee Ann Womack.
